18 Feb Cameroon’s Remy Bouelet Wins AfSA Logo Competition

The African Space Agency has announced Remy Fadhil Bouelet from Cameroon as the winner of the AfSA Logo Competition. The logo has now been adopted as the official African Space Agency logo and will be officially unveiled at the inauguration ceremony set to be held on the 20th of April 2025 alongside the NewSpace Africa Conference in Cairo, Egypt.

The African Space Agency Logo Competition was created to give young, creative Africans the opportunity to contribute to a new era of space innovation and collaboration on the continent. The selected logo was judged to be a design that truly embodies AfSA’s vision, mission, and influence as a central player in advancing Africa’s space ambitions. The logo will be the most visible part of the African Space Agency’s brand identity and become synonymous with the agency’s mission to lead space exploration and initiatives in Africa.

Selection Process
In December 2024, the African Space Agency put out a call for young Africans from all walks of life—professional graphic designers, budding artists, and students alike—to showcase their talent and imagination and contribute to the continental space programme. We received 143 submissions and 113 unique entries from 19 African countries. The selection involved a meticulous vetting process and grading by a team of five distinguished judges drawn from four African countries across private and public institutions with vast experience in the African space industry. The entries were judged based on the criteria below:
- The logo must be in the AUC colours included in the instructions,
- The rationale for the design must be logical.
