On this International Women’s Day 2026, I would like to celebrate the remarkable women of Africa and around the world whose dedication, talent, and leadership continue to shape a better future for our societies.

Women play a vital role in advancing science, innovation, and development, including in the space sector. Their contributions inspire the next generation and remind us that progress is strongest when it is inclusive. At the African Space Agency, we remain committed to supporting and encouraging the participation and leadership of women in space science, technology, and innovation across our continent.

Today, we honour the achievements of women, and together with the ‘Women in Space’, we reaffirm our commitment to equality and encourage young girls everywhere to dream boldly and pursue their aspirations.
